To have lived and loved... I think are the greatest gifts one could ask for. To truely live each moment of one's life to it's abundant nature. To love as though there is no yesterday nor tomorrow to be. Each breath inhaled as though you've been denied oxygen... clear, crisp, refreshing, and a deep longing for the next. To abundantly live in/with Christ; full of boldness and confidence of His being within and around us.
Treasured things don't come in neat little packages. So I once thought. They however, come amidst the messy, uncontained, open spaces of life. They arrive un-announced, slipping up on you, until wham they smack you in the face and go.. yo, here I am. Like a diamond in the rough eh?
Treasured moments aren't created they occur from within the chaos and crisis and turmoil of life. Treasured moments are kept alive deep within the wells of our memories. Sometimes they take a bit of work, slowing down, even stopping and having an awareness of its event.
Treasured people are like gifts. Given freely from Him. Yet until you receive them and take the time to open them you never fully experience the treasure of the relationship.
I hope you find your treasured things, moments and people in your life today...

Happy New Year, Tanya! I needed to read this entry, about treasured moments. I find that I am constantly looking forward or backward, but rarely enjoying the present. A good reminder to treasure the moment as it's lived, slowing down long enough to see what's going on around me and to really allow my heart to be touched, to be changed. Sigh, to adundantly live in/with Christ. Not just to exist.
