Adverb: Etymology: Middle English, from Old English hwy, instrumental case of hwæt what: for what cause, reason, or purpose
Noun: Inflected Form(s): plural whys1 : REASON, CAUSE
Conjunction: the cause, reason, or purpose for which
Interjection: used to express mild surprise, hesitation, approval, disapproval, or impatience
Funny how one word can be used so many ways. My favourite question is "Why?" It's not used as a form of rebellion or lack of trust or even disrespect. Simply understanding the why drives my motivation.
Understanding why something is imporant can create an equally shared importance in the achieving the task or reaching the goal or even fulfiling the duty with a higher level of competency.
Understanding the why can bring a sense of ownership because you understand why you're really doing something.
Understanding the why can bring a sense of empowerment when you need to explain or justify what you just did.
Understanding the why brodens your view when you no longer can follow, when you need to make decisions for yourself, when you need to go forth.
I struggle with the why question all time.
Though it is one of my favourite quesitons to seek and ask.

mmmm.... FAITH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Even when the why's, what's, how's, and with whom's don't exist.
Hey - what is your new place like??
no new place yet.. Feb. 1st.
Why did you write this? Hehe. I can relate to this entry. In fact, I remember driving on of our MAdv leaders up the wall with our why questions. For me, it's about ownership and understanding. IF I own it and understand it, then I can move forward. Without that, I have little motivation. I also like gathering facts, going behind the scenes and getting the history to why we do something the way we do. I think with that kind of understanding, it helps us be more open to change, to improvement, to developing ideas. So it's frustrating and limiting when "non-why people" react with "just quit with your questions and go do what you need to do" response. Why, why, why...
Jen
I remember those days Jen. Good times. Oh how it strengthened us both. We did it. We launched it. We were okay. Oh those were happy days eh?!
It's good to question, but do we always like the answer? Are we able to turn away from what we thought we knew to be truth to embrace actual truth. I wonder.
Good question Jody. Suppose if you're really seeking, you'd have too.
I agree Tanya, if one was to really seek there must be a reason behind the desire. Why do we seek, is it because we know somewhere deep inside ourselves that that which we thought to be absolute has some holes in it? There is only one truth in regards to faith, the question is who is right and WHY some aren't.
