To pursue truth is more then a mere confession. It's a life altering pursuit. It's easy to say we believe something. Many believe. Many will say they believe something to be true. However, to confess to believe and then commit one's life to it wholely, is a completely different concept altogether. To lay aside preconceived notions, concepts and even what we may believe to be reality isn't necessarily that easy. It is a serious life (mind, body and soul) challenge.
What if everything you believed to be true wasn't so? How would that effect you? How would that change you? What if everything you thought was green was actually blue and yellow? Not necessarily completely wrong, but more detailed. Would you walk against the flow of those around you to see it more clearly? Would you fight the oncoming crowd to get just a little bit closer? Or would you be content to go with the flow...
To confess to believe, to surrender one's entire life (mind, body and soul), to pursue truth and the apply it to one's own life is ----> A Radical Life Altering Experience.
The deeper my hunger and passion for Him grows, the more I am challenged beyond what I think I know. I am challenged to question that which I feel like I know... To be persistent in my pursuit of Him, of His truth, of His eyes and of His reality. My eyes are so small and my reality is only that which I presently know... to see through His eyes, to view reality of life as He does would increase the spanse of time beyond anything I could ever comprehend.
To pursue something is to actively do something. It's not just a bunch of talk... or a bunch of regurgitating, it's an actual action. A decision. Then an action.
We say we want to live these radical live's for Christ.. we pump our youth up and spur them on to 'go for it all'. Yet... a serious radical life altering experience will take you through both trenches of mud and over mountains of beautiful skylines. To fully understand that both are needed is maturity. Not throwing in the towel in the trenches is tough. Did you notice that even the apostles who walked directly with Jesus, didn't always get it right. I find that encouraging.
I am challenged to fight against what society dictates to me in pursuit of knowing Him deeper and for a life not of complacency but one of immense passion for a life radically different.
